The Tao of the Comedic Genius

  1. The great thing about dreams is that they don’t have to be practical.
  2. Hold doors for people, even if you don’t know them.
  3. It’s ok to support someone, even if you don’t necessarily agree with them.
  4. Both the high road and the road less traveled are usually still worth the extra effort, despite their numerous potholes and sporadic toll booths.
  5. Treat anyone you meet as a friend until they give you reason to do otherwise.
  6. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sitting around all day watching television.
  7. Most people can’t sing – the sooner you learn to stop being self-conscious about it and just do it anyways, the happier you’ll be.
  8. Be cautious about whom you share your love with, but once you’ve found someone who’s worth it, by all means give them everything you’ve got.
  9. If you have to question whether or not it’s worth your time to do your best, perhaps instead you should be questioning how you’re spending your time in the first place.
  10. You don’t have to meet someone face-to-face to be their friend.
  11. The only pain that can’t be lessened by cookies is discovering that you’re all out of milk.
  12. Don’t be afraid to tell somebody that they’re wrong. Some of the world’s greatest advances would’ve never come to be if the system didn’t get questioned every now and then.
  13. The words please and thank-you still have a lot of weight in society today because not very many people use them anymore – be one of the few.
  14. Some people just weren’t intended to be placed behind the driver’s wheel. This includes midgets, the elderly, and most Asian people…
  15. If it can’t be done by a man and his toolbox, it simply can’t be done.
  16. Sometimes just having the courage to take that first step is the biggest challenge of them all.
  17. Unless you’re sleeping with them, it’s unacceptable to call anybody after 10:00 PM.
  18. Nobody ever enjoys taking that step back to cut their losses, but it sure as hell beats losing the farm altogether.
  19. A true friend is one who knows the difference between telling someone what they want to hear and what they need to hear, and when each one is relevant.
  20. It’s never too late to say you’re sorry, but don’t say it unless you really mean it.
  21. Judge not, lest ye have some really hilarious examples to cite along the way.
  22. You’re never too old to believe in Santa Claus…or magic, for that matter.
  23. It’s not a vacation if you have to get up before 8:00 AM.
  24. The lengths to which we will go for love will never truly be understood by those who have never lost it themselves.
